Medical Assistant

Train for a career as a Medical Assistant in as little as 12 months!*

Swedish Institute’s Medical Assistant Program will teach you the skills necessary to perform clinical and administrative duties in clinics, hospitals, urgent care facilities and other medical settings.

Students gain an understanding of how to perform interoffice clinical and office tasks, such as taking vital signs, learning how to draw blood, reading lab results, phlebotomy/hematology techniques, 12-lead electrocardiography (ECG), basic pharmacology, patient care, and medical record-keeping.

Employment of Medical Assistants is projected to grow 29% from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations!

Practical experience and externships provide students with an opportunity to assist and work in a variety of settings, both in our on-site laboratory and through an externship at a local hospital. Students learn to work and communicate effectively within a medical setting.

What our Graduates Say:

"Becoming a Swedish Institute student has truly changed my life. It has given me the ability to believe in myself and discover the things I’m capable of. The help I received from my instructors shaped and guided me to where I am now as a Registered Medical Assistant."

"Classes were hands on and the professors wanted you to succeed, making the environment comfortable and safe. I wouldn't be able to show my gratitude and thank the staff at Swedish enough for everything they've done for me. Look at me now, two years later a Registered Medical Assistant. There is nothing more that I could ask for."
